Gods/Deities:
Brigid- Later known as the Christian St.Brigit/Bridget, she was a deity of many powers that included Fire of Inspiration, Fire of the Hearth, and Fire of the Forge. Others believe she is in charge of things like poetry and martial arts. She was a fighter, brave and powerful, something a lot of people looked up to.
Dagda- Known as the “The Good God”, he is believed to have both superhuman strength and appetite. Dagda’s attribution was a large club that could both slay men and bring them back to life. Dagda was looked up to and had many heroic features, making him a role model for the people of Ireland.
Cesair- One of the first Irish goddesses, she led a band of people onto her own ark after she was not allowed on her grandfather, Noah’s. She guided a group to Ireland to start anew. She is very significant in Irish culture because helped the country thrive and one of the first gods/goddesses to represent this culture.
Heroes/Heroines:
Cuchulain- He was an Irish warrior, who was a hero and role model to the people of Ireland. He was a very brave fighter and his story is widely known, originating in Ulster. This hero was significant because he was someone that countless people looked up to. His courage made him a role model and he taught people to be that brave, too.
